Mmmm...this should put you in the mood! There are so many such tours in South Africa, but we'll only cover a few. Later on we shall visit some more watering holes!

Tulbagh is a historical town in the Cape. First discovered in 1658 by Pieter Potter, a surveyor to Jan Van Riebeek.
Apart from a large variety of wine routes, you can also enjoy : birding, horse rides, off-road 4x4, mountain biking, scenic drives, flowers, arts & crafts.

*On the Blue Crane Vineyards you'll find white, red and roze wines.

*Also known for its olive oil. Here you'll fine dry & sweet muscat, rose, cabernet, pinotage and shiraz.

*Drostdy Hof is 1806 authentic cape dutch. The manor offers museum visits and wine tasting.

*Nesteld between the Witzenberg and Winterhoek mountains. Founded in the 1700's by Theunis Bevernagie. In 1927 the estate was bought by the Jordaan family. The Riesling wine took gold in the Commonwealth Wine Show.
*Chardonnay, Riesling, Bouquet blanc, Prestige and Rose wines available.

*TWEE JONGE GEZELLEN - The house of Krone, has been in the family since 1710.
*Situated in the Tulbagh valley, surrounded by rugged mountains.
*Still wines and sparkling wines are produced here.

Hi Bobi, Thanks for the blog, kinda inspires me to take a tour and travel our country.
Been to a couple of these. You need a few days to do the wine route though and keep yourself in check for the wine tasting bit.
It's great for topping up your wine collection though!
i would totally agree on that, especially the red wines, which are my favourite! as some people would agree, it's a sin spitting out what you taste! so i can fully understand if u choose to do a few tours over a period of days or if 1 tour takes u a couple of days - ha,ha!
